What’s the advantage of a single warranty on the whole system all from one manufacturer?2023-10-25T19:46:34+00:00

A working solar system is composed of many components that work together to turn sunlight into usable power for your home. When you buy a SunPower® solar system with components that are designed and engineered to work together, you get the confidence of knowing that not only will the system work better together, but also that, should anything go wrong, you have one company, SunPower, backing your entire system – not just a component. If there is an issue, you have just one phone call to make.

Is length of coverage the most important part of a manufacturer’s warranty?2023-10-25T19:46:14+00:00

While length of coverage is important, it’s even more important to understand the comprehensiveness of the coverage. If something goes wrong with your system, is there one company to contact, or will you have to juggle amongst multiple manufacturer warranties, each of which is responsible for only one component of your system? Can you simply pick up the phone, or are you required to send a request for help to a P. O. Box in a distant location and wait an extended period of time to receive help? Will a representative inspect the system at your home, or will you be expected to ship a faulty component, at your expense? Do you have peace of mind knowing that your system will be fixed at no extra cost to you, or will you be billed for extra charges such as labor or shipping? These are only some of the considerations that SunPower took into account when creating our industry-leading Complete Confidence Warranty.

I saw that another brand offers a warranty that also provides 25 years of coverage. Is this the same as SunPower’s warranty?2023-10-25T19:45:57+00:00

Other manufacturers, many of which are new to manufacturing solar, are trying to catch up to SunPower’s 30+ years of dedicated solar experience and to the exceptional terms of our Complete Confidence Warranty. Many of them include hidden charges, such as shipping and labor costs, and don’t cover all of the many parts that go into a working solar system – panels, inverters, racking system, monitoring hardware and software. SunPower is the only company that offers one comprehensive product, power, and labor warranty for all components, because we engineered and designed the entire system.

Why does SunPower claim to have the best power warranty in the industry and how does this benefit me?2023-10-25T19:45:33+00:00

Over time, all solar panels lose a small amount of production, measured by its annual degradation rate. SunPower panels have the lowest degradation rate in the industry, validated by 3rd party testing. This means that a system with SunPower panels can produce more power and we back this with our 25 year Complete Confidence Warranty.

What does it mean when the product and power warranties reflect different lengths of coverage?2023-10-25T19:45:09+00:00

Homeowners should be suspicious of product and power warranties with separate lengths of terms. Product warranty covers defects and power warranty covers how much power the system is producing. What’s the value of a longer power warranty if the product generating the power breaks but is no longer warranted?

What information do you need to start my quote?2023-10-25T19:49:24+00:00

We strive to get you the lowest price and an accurate quote. Providing the following information is essential to access your unique needs and avoid any unforeseen electrical or structural issues which will offset your solar installation project.

  1. Electricity Bill is the most reliable record of energy consumption for your home. It allows us to develop an energy use profile customized just for you.
  2. Photos of your electrical panel showing all breakers, a zoomed-in photo showing bus-bar rating (i.e. “200A”), a clear photo of the label inside the panel, and a photo from ground to roof-line on side of the home with the electrical panel.

Rest assured your energy consultant will provide example pictures before your consultation!

Why do I need a solar consultation?2023-10-25T19:49:49+00:00
The purpose of a solar consultation is for us to gather all the information we need to make sure your home is a good fit for solar. This is also a great opportunity to get all your questions answered! Your Energy Consultant will analyze your energy usage and ask questions about future changes in energy consumption — such as adding a pool or an EV — which can dramatically affect your energy bill. Once your energy consultant has this information, our team of highly qualified design engineers will custom-tailor a quote for a system that fits your solar needs.
Are there any federal and state incentives still available?2023-10-25T19:50:18+00:00
Yes. If you purchase a solar system, the federal government will give you a 30% tax credit on the total you paid which may be used in a single year or spread out over five years. The current federal solar tax (ITC) credit is set to decrease to 26% in 2033, so the time to go solar and save the most is now! Leased solar systems are not eligible for tax credits.
How much can I save exactly?2023-10-26T21:00:22+00:00

Monthly savings can vary depending on the customer’s home electricity usage and the size of the solar system, but generally the larger the solar system, the bigger the savings. You may even be able to reduce your electric bill down to $0! Try our FREE Solar Calculator to learn more about how much solar you will need to offset your current utility bill and possible future bill once you can use more power guilt free — more A/C, EV, pool.
